Tiger Woods Pga Tour 10 [ G ]

Release:  30/Jun/2009

Platform:  Nintendo Wii

Rating:  G

Genre:  Sports

It must be quite a challenge to improve upon a series as robust as Tiger Woods PGA Tour. Since its inception it has built a titanium monopoly on virtual golf that’s flicked all challengers aside with ease. This incarnation maintains its lead over the pack, with a raft of fantastic new features – and what better time for an update, with the man himself confirmed as a starter in this November’s Australian Masters in Melbourne?

While Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 already looked the part, EA have tried to increase the tension when out on the course by making each event feel less like a weekday knock around, and more like an international event with an uncountable amount of cash and endorsements at stake. They’ve achieved this by tripling the amount of spectators, introducing a new precision putting mechanic and allowing players to relive some of golf’s greatest moments.

In addition to these goodies, the Wii version has another club in its bag. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 is fully compatible with the new Wii MotionPlus peripheral. This hardware add-on clips into the base of the Wii remote and increases its sensitivity. Putting, for instance, is now greatly enhanced and is even more sensitive to the physical imperfections and form of each stroke. Players who roll their wrists too much or have a poor follow through will find putts going wayward – as they would on the real green.

This game is nirvana for those who play golf as well as those who love watching golf on TV.
#1 Whip It
Drew Barrymore's directorial debut is a classic coming-of-age story... on roller skates. No, it's not back to Xanadu, but into the high-impact world of girls' roller derby, where Bliss Cavendar (Ellen Page) finds herself transformed into Babe Ruthless.
